Company History

The company was born out of a long-time passion for energy, technology and sustainability. Our founder, Marc Esser, holds a M.S. in computer sciences and a minor in renewable energy physics. After more than 12 years as a software engineer, technical lead and manager, he was ready to broaden his horizons - at first, during evenings and weekends. After a while it became clear that NegaWatt could become his new profession, and Marc gave up his old career in NegaWatt's favor. Marc's knowledge, proven management skills, and knack for technology had us well prepared for world-class services from day one.

Marc's wife Joanna recently came on board as well: she contributes to day to day operations, project management, accounting, and (of course ;-) strategic decisions. Being Marc's wife, Joanna owns 50% of the company. As her role in the company grows, look out for Joanna assuming another 1%, and for NegaWatt to apply for WBE minority status.
