NegaWatt's Company Blog
Our thoughts and feelings are with the people of Japan... what a terrible, terrible tragedy. We wish all the best from the bottom of our hearts to anyone affected by the disaster.
NegaWatt is supporting the Red Cross's relief efforts with a generous donation.
I would also like to seize this opportunity to remind our clients and the energy community of the dangers of nuclear power. While it is not our place to be for or against the technology, it worries me to see that even a very advanced, high-tech society like Japan is not immune against dramatic accidents. Some might argue that abundant energy is a requirement for becoming an advanced, high-tech society in the first place, and that such tragedies are so unlikely that it is OK to incur the risk. On top of that, nuclear energy is CO2-free, which makes it very desirable as the world is trying to control global climate change.
That said, at NegaWatt we feel that it's time to put all the options on the table. With an ever higher price tag for energy generation - exponentially increased by risks we can apparently not control after all - NegaWatts are ever more attractive, aren't they?
All the best, Japan.
We are proud to announce our new web site - and this will be the shortest article ever written, because it's late, we're happy the web site is online, and we have earned ourselves a beer :-) Hasta la vista! More soon.
